Registration and Tuition
All students are required to pay a $15.00 non-refundable Registration Fee for the 2010-2011 school year program. This is to be paid at the time you register for classes. Tuition may be paid for the full year, at one time, or in monthly payments. June payments are 1/4 the amount of the regular monthly payments and are due with May tuition. Each class receives 37 lessons during the year. Monthly fees are the same whether there are 3 lessons or 5 lessons in a month. Tuition is due on the 1st of each month. A Late Fee of $7.00 will be charged if payment is not received before the 15th of each month. The fees are on a per student basis. If you have more than one student per family, please calculate each member's tuition separately, keeping in mind the family discount.
Checks may be placed in the black mail-box in the waiting room of the dance studio, or mailed to:

Dancewear
Form-fitting spandex-style dancewear is required for all Ballet and Jazz classes.
Black Ballet shoes are required for all the ballet classes through Teambound Level. Team I, II and III are required to have pink ballet shoes.
Black Ballet shoes are also required for Jazz students through grade 2.
At grade 3 and older, all Jazz students are required to wear black jazz shoes.
Hip-Hop students wear black jazz shoes (the same as for Jazz). These will be worn for class as well as for recital. We ask that street shoes not be worn on studio floors please.
Quality shoes, appropriate for each class, are for sale at the studio.
Dancers are never permitted to wear dangly earrings to class because of the potential danger of injury. Hair should be secured off the face. Please do not wear street clothes to class, except for Hip-Hop classes.
Costumes
Costumes for the December, March, and May dance recitals are ordered and purchased in the fall. This is because catalog companies often become back-ordered due to volume. The studio is required to pay for costumes up-front. For this reason, all Pre-Ballet, Creative Ballet, Jazz and Hip-Hop classes have an $100 costume deposit. These classes usually receive two costumes during the year for this price. Since the Classical Ballet classes with Moore and Borges (4th Grade and older) will receive only one costume, their costume deposit is $75.
Costume deposits are to be made for each class that your child is in. Costume deposits for all classes are due by October 1st. If the deposit is not paid by this date, additional costs to cover separate shipping may be incurred (according to the manufacturer's fees). Students who enroll in classes after October 1st will still be able to get a costume if ordered before January, but may also incur additional charges, according to the cost of shipping. You may make installments beginning in September or earlier if desired. Credits will be applied to tuition or refunded. If the costume is more than $100, you will be billed for the balance.
Note: Teams I, II, and III have different payment requirements for costumes and will be informed. Most classes, preschool through fifth, will receive a costume for the December show that will also serve for the March show and can be utilized for in-class dancewear. A more elaborate costume is then ordered for the May show.
Missed Classes
Students are permitted to make-up a missed class by attending any other class of your approximate level within 4 weeks of your absence. There will be no refunds or adjustments (credits) for missed classes. It is up to you to arrange for an appropriate make-up time with the teacher.
Schedule Recommendation
Attending class more than once a week is strongly recommended for the student who wants to progress rapidly and steadily. Anyone interested in aspiring to 'team' level should prepare from an early age with a combination of Ballet and Jazz classes. Students age 7 and older are urged to take a ballet class as well as a jazz class every week.
Recitals and Performances
There will be 3 main performances in Jacoby Auditorium at Umpqua Community College. Kathryn feels that performance opportunities enhance the student's abilities beyond what can be done in the classroom alone. Students need to be rewarded for their practice and efforts through this means and learn about stage presence. All classes, except classical ballet classes, are involved in all 3 recitals. These ballet classes focus on technique throughout the year and perform in the May show only.
Professional Videos are taken for the March and May shows. Pictures of classes and students are taken for the May show.
