She was a dance major at Brigham Young University and also attended the University of Utah to take their special courses in methods of teaching children. Active in Children's Theatre, she was director of Umpqua Youth Musical Theatre Co. for several years. Most recently, she was choreographer for the Umpqua Community College Musical "Beauty and The Beast". Kathryn has been teaching for over 25 years, having owned studios in California and Oregon.

Nikki’s dance philosophy is that a strong classical ballet foundation allows dancers to perform at their peak in all styles. She has competed and performed in dance for many years and had the opportunity to study and take workshops both locally and nation wide. In addition to teaching ballet, Nikki works full time in the Computer Aided Drafting and Design field and is a wife and mother of two.

Other Instructors

Tianna Bleigh, Sylvia Carillo, and Kendall Monteith are graduates of Kathryn Howard’s School of Dance. They have danced for over 16 years and been trained by Kathryn herself. They began as class assistants, eventually moving up to full instructor status under Kathryn’s tutelage. As past Team members they have had extensive performing experience, attended conventions, and trained under the Jazz/Hip Hop masters in Los Angeles. As young, vibrant women, they bring a strong work ethic and positive energy to their classes. We are happy to have them continue their dance careers at the Studio.
